Marketing Intern

The Sagamore Council, Boy Scouts of America is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting, goal driven individual to serve as a Marketing Intern for our council.  This is a part time position up to 20 hours per week.

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.  Since 1910, Scouting has helped mold the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun.  The Boy Scouts of America believes and understands that helping youth puts us on a path towards a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.

The Sagamore Council serves over 2,000 youth in 14 counties in North Central Indiana (Newton, Jasper, Pulaski, Fulton, White, Cass, Miami, Wabash, Grant, Howard, Carroll, Tippecanoe, Benton & Warren counties).

The Marketing Intern will:

  • Create Social Media Content (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & YouTube)
  • Create promotional material for Summer Camp and Fall events and activities.
  • Create press releases for events and activities.

Desired Skills:

  • Must have experience in graphic design skills (photoshop, Adobe suite, Canva, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Tech savvy

Requirements:

  • Must be willing to accept and meet the Boy Scout of America’s leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law.
  • Attained 18 years of age or older unless prohibited by any applicable law.
  • Scouting background is not required.
  • A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
  • Must be available to work 20 hours per week

2024 Summer Camp Staff – Camp Buffalo – Monticello, IN 

Summer Camp 2024 will be here before we know it. The first step in providing a quality summer camp experience is to hire a higher quality staff. Do you want to be a part of the best summer camp staff in the BSA? If so, we are now accepting applications!! If you are interested in being a part of this outstanding staff, please fill out a Camp Staff Application, BSA Youth or Adult Application (18+ years old should complete an adult application, 17 years old and younger should complete a youth application), and complete Youth Protection Training HERE and return it to Bryon Haverstick by email.

Below are the dates for Summer Camp 2024 at Camp Buffalo:
Administration Week: May 26-June 1 (Only some positions are required to attend)
Staff Week: June 2-8 (Required for all Staff Members)
Summer Camp Week 1: June 9-15
Summer Camp Week 2: June 16-22
Cub Scout Adventure Camp Session 1: June 23-26
Cub Scout Adventure Camp Session 2: June 27-30

***Please note that some staff members will be asked to volunteer their time to help with Cub Adventure Camp at the end of the summer. This is very helpful to deliver a quality Cub Scout Program but optional when asked.
